Northfield is a small town in Jackson County, Wisconsin, in the United States. In the year 2000, about 586 people lived there. Two smaller communities, Northfield and York, are also part of this town.

A Look Back: Northfield's History
The first people to settle in the Northfield area who came from other countries arrived in the 1850s. The town of Northfield was officially created in November 1857. It was formed from the northwest part of another town called Brooklyn. By 1860, sixteen families were living in Northfield. Later, in 1881, a new town called Garfield was created from the northern part of Northfield.

Interstate 94, a major highway, goes right through the town. It runs from the northwest side to the southeast side. There's an exit on I-94 near the community of Northfield, which connects to Wisconsin Highway 121.
