Northville is a small community known as a hamlet and a census-designated place (CDP). It is located in the Town of Riverhead in Suffolk County, on Long Island, in New York, United States. In 2020, about 1,566 people lived there.
For a short time, between 1921 and 1930, Northville was an official village. It was first called the Incorporated Village of Sound Avenue. Later, in 1927, its name changed to the Incorporated Village of Northville.
History of Northville
Northville was an official village for a few years in the early 20th century. It became an incorporated village in 1921. At first, it was known as the "Incorporated Village of Sound Avenue." In 1927, the village changed its name to the "Incorporated Village of Northville." However, this official village status ended in 1930.

Northville is located on Long Island in New York. According to the United States Census Bureau, the total area of the CDP is about 7.40 square miles (19.16 square kilometers). A small part of this area, about 0.28%, is water.

In 2000, there were 801 people living in Northville. These people lived in 296 households, and 224 of these were families. The population density was about 108 people per square mile.
