The Upsalquitch Northwest River is a river in New Brunswick, Canada. It's a smaller river that flows into the Upsalquitch River. This river travels through the parishes of Saint-Quentin, Eldon, and Addington. It's located in the northwest part of Restigouche County.

As the Upsalquitch Northwest River flows eastward, it winds through a beautiful valley. This valley is nestled between mountains. The river also passes northwest of Caribou Mountain.

Where the River Begins and Ends

The Upsalquitch Northwest River starts as a small mountain stream. This stream is found in a forest area within Restigouche County.

The River's Journey

The river flows for about 70.2 kilometres (43.6 mi). It travels through a valley surrounded by tall mountains.

Upper Part of the River

In its upper section, the river flows for about 32.8 kilometres (20.4 mi). It starts in Saint-Quentin. Along this part, it meets several smaller streams and brooks. Some of these include Chisholm Brook, Black Brook, and Wild Creek.

Lower Part of the River

The lower section of the river is about 37.4 kilometres (23.2 mi) long. Here, the river continues its journey eastward. It passes by Oxford Brook, Burntland Brook, and Eighteen Mile Brook. It then enters Addington Parish.

The river eventually flows past Nine Mile Brook and Cravens Gulch. It also goes northwest of Caribou Mountain.

Where the River Joins Another

The Upsalquitch Northwest River eventually flows into the Upsalquitch River. It joins the Upsalquitch River on its west bank. This meeting point is about 29.3 kilometres (18.2 mi) northwest of where the main Upsalquitch River ends.
