The River's Journey: Upper Sections
From its start, the Upsalquitch River flows for about 18.4 kilometers (11.4 miles).

- It then turns west for 0.3 kilometers (0.2 miles). It meets McDougalls Brook here.
- The river continues northwest for 1.1 kilometers (0.7 miles). It passes through "Crooked Rapids" and meets Reids Gulch.
- Next, it flows northwest for 7.2 kilometers (4.5 miles). It joins with South Two Brooks.
- Finally, this upper section ends after another 4.0 kilometers (2.5 miles) northwest. This brings it to the edge of Eldon Parish, New Brunswick.
The River's Journey: Lower Sections
The lower part of the river stretches for about 22.0 kilometers (13.7 miles).
- It flows southwest for 3.0 kilometers (1.9 miles). Here, it meets Boland Brook.
- Then, it goes west and north for 4.0 kilometers (2.5 miles). This section reaches the border of Addington Parish, New Brunswick.
- It flows west for 1.3 kilometers (0.8 miles) in Addington Parish. It makes a curve north before reaching the Eldon Parish border.
- The river continues west for 3.3 kilometers (2.1 miles). It passes under a railway bridge.
- It flows northwest for 8.3 kilometers (5.2 miles). This section reaches the Route 17 bridge in Robinsonville.
- The last 2.1 kilometers (1.3 miles) flow northwest. This leads to where the Upsalquitch River joins the Restigouche River.
Where the River Ends
The Upsalquitch River flows into the south bank of the Restigouche River. The Restigouche River forms part of the border between New Brunswick and Quebec. There is an island called Upsalquitch Island right where the two rivers meet. This area is near a place known as Harmony camp.
