Dominick J. Lamb (born February 21, 1977), known as Nottz (or Nottz Raw), is an American hip hop producer and rapper. He is from Norfolk, Virginia. Nottz is famous for creating beats for many well-known hip hop artists.

Who is Nottz?
Nottz is a talented music producer and rapper. He creates the musical backgrounds, called "beats," for songs. He has worked with some of the biggest names in hip hop music.
Early Career and Big Breaks
Nottz started making music in the late 1990s. Some of his first work was on a music collection called Lyricist Lounge, Volume One in 1998.
A big moment came when rapper Busta Rhymes heard Nottz's beats. Busta Rhymes liked them so much that he used three of Nottz's tracks on his album Extinction Level Event. This helped Nottz become known in the music world.
How Nottz Makes Music
Nottz creates his unique sounds by using parts of old songs. He often takes sounds from old soul records or movie soundtracks. He then mixes and changes these sounds to make brand new beats. This way of making music is called "sampling."
Working with Dr. Dre
Even famous producers admire Nottz's work. The West Coast hip hop legend, Dr. Dre, has said Nottz is one of his favorite producers. Dr. Dre even asked Nottz to help with his highly anticipated album, Detox, though the album was never officially released.
Nottz's Own Music and Groups
Besides producing for others, Nottz also makes his own music. He has a music group called D.M.P., which stands for "Durte Muzik Prahdukshun." They released an EP in 2004 and a full album in 2005. They also released another album, God Made Durt, in 2013.
In 2010, Nottz released his first solo album, You Need This Music. On this album, Nottz not only produced the music but also rapped on the songs himself.
Collaborations with Other Artists
Nottz has worked with many different artists throughout his career.
Working with Asher Roth
In 2010, Nottz teamed up with rapper Asher Roth. They released a joint music project called Rawth EP. This EP was given away for free online.
Working with The Game
Nottz also worked closely with rapper The Game. He produced beats for The Game's albums, including Doctor's Advocate, LAX, and The R.E.D. Album.
More Collaborations
In 2012, Nottz and Kardinal Offishall released a joint mixtape called A.M.T.R.I.M.. A mixtape is like a collection of songs, often released for free.
The next year, in 2013, Nottz worked with rapper Blu on an EP called Gods in the Spirit. That same year, Nottz helped produce a song called "Nosetalgia" for Pusha T, which also featured rapper Kendrick Lamar. This song was produced with Kanye West.
Joining The Soul Council
In 2014, Nottz joined a special group of producers called The Soul Council. This group includes other talented music makers. 9th Wonder, a well-known producer, announced Nottz was joining. 9th Wonder has often praised Nottz, calling him "the best beat maker on Earth right now" and "the best producer in the game."
