Nuquí is a town and a special area (called a municipality) in the Chocó Department of Colombia. It's located in western Colombia, between the mountains of Baudó and the Pacific Ocean. Nuquí is known for its rich culture and amazing variety of plants and animals.
About 8,800 people live in Nuquí. Most of the people are Afro-Colombians, and some are members of indigenous tribes. Nuquí became a municipality in 1915. Before that, it was part of the municipality of Valle, Chocó.
Nuquí is the hometown of the famous Latin hip hop group, ChocQuib Town. The band even made a song called "Nuquí (Te Quiero Para Mí)," and its music video was filmed right in Nuquí and on its beautiful beaches.
