History of O Valadouro
The area where O Valadouro is located has a very long history! Scientists and historians have found signs that people lived here many thousands of years ago.
Ancient Discoveries
One important discovery was made at a place called Chao da Cruz. This spot is in a flat area known as Cabalar-A Veiga Blonde, right at the base of a mountain called Box O Cadramón.
At Chao da Cruz, archaeologists found around two thousand tools. These tools were made from different types of stone, like quartz and rock crystal. They were often small pieces or chips of stone that early humans used for various tasks. Finding so many tools in one place tells us that this area was likely an important spot for ancient people to live or work.
