Oakford is a small village located in Menard County, Illinois, in the United States. It's a quiet place that was home to 234 people when the last count was taken in 2020. Oakford is also part of the larger Springfield area.
Where is Oakford?
Oakford is found in the northwestern part of Menard County. A road called Illinois Route 97 goes right through the eastern side of the village. This road can take you about 9 miles (14 km) southeast to Petersburg, which is the main town and government center for Menard County. If you go northwest on the same road, you'll reach Havana, about 15 miles (24 km) away.
The village covers a total area of about 0.25 square miles (0.64 square kilometers), and all of it is land. Oakford sits at the bottom of some hills, which are the southern edge of the Sangamon River valley.
