Where is Oakland Located?
Oakland is found in the middle of Lawrence County. It is in the southeastern part of Union Township. The city of New Castle, which is the county seat, borders Oakland to the south and east. Another community called Oakwood is to the north.

The community is built on a hill. From this hill, you can see the Shenango River to the east. The Shenango River flows south and joins the Beaver River. Both rivers are part of the larger Ohio River system.
