Oakland is a small, quiet place in Clinton County, Ohio, United States. It's known as an unincorporated community, which means it's not officially a city or a town with its own local government. Instead, it's managed by the county.

History of Oakland

Oakland was first started way back in 1806. It got its name from the many beautiful oak trees that grew nearby when the community was first planned. For a while, Oakland even had its own post office. This post office opened in 1839 and served the community until 1905.
