About Obed Dlamini
Obed Dlamini served as the Prime Minister of Swaziland (as it was known then). He held this important position from July 12, 1989, until October 25, 1993. As Prime Minister, he was the head of the government, working with the King to lead the country.
His Political Career
After his time as Prime Minister, Obed Dlamini continued to be involved in politics. He became a member of the Liqoqo. This is a special council that advises the King of Eswatini.
Dlamini was unique because he was one of only two members in the Liqoqo who belonged to a political party. He was a member of the Ngwane National Liberatory Congress. This was a political group that worked for the country's development.
He also served as a member of parliament. In this role, he represented the people living in the Nhlambeni area. This area is located in the Manzini region of Eswatini.
