Oberwinterthur is a district in the Swiss city of Winterthur. It is known as district number 2 within the city.
This district includes several smaller areas called quarters. These are Talacker, Guggenbühl, Zinzikon, Reutlingen, Stadel, Grüze, Hegmatten, and Hegi.
Long ago, Oberwinterthur was its own separate town. It became part of Winterthur in 1922. This area is also where the ancient Roman settlement of Vitudurum was located.
Getting Around
The Oberwinterthur railway station is an important stop for local trains. It is part of the Zürich S-Bahn network. You can catch trains like the S8, S29, and S30 lines from this station. These trains help people travel easily around the region.
