A Brief History of Obligado
Obligado has an interesting past. The land where the city now stands once belonged to an Argentinian named Pastor Servando Obligado.
How Obligado Was Founded
The city of Obligado was officially started on May 25, 1912. This happened when a group of German colonists came and bought the land. They worked hard to build a new community there.
Becoming a District
Over time, Obligado grew bigger and more important. Because of its growth, it was officially made a district on June 20, 1955. This meant it had its own local government and could manage its own affairs.
The "Colonias Unidas" Cluster
Obligado is part of a special group of districts in Itapúa. These districts are Hohenau, Bella Vista, and Obligado. Together, they are known as "Colonias Unidas." This name means "United Colonies." They work together, especially in industrial activities, making the region strong and productive.
