Ojos Locos Sports Cantina is a chain of sports bars and restaurants with a Mexican theme. The company is based in Dallas, Texas, and has restaurants across the American Southwest. The name Ojos Locos means "Crazy Eyes" in Spanish.
History and Concept
Ojos Locos was started in 2010 by a group of restaurant owners. One of the founders, Randy DeWitt, had also started another restaurant chain called Twin Peaks in 2005. The first Ojos Locos opened in Dallas, Texas, just in time for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Because of this, the chain has always been a popular place to watch soccer.
The restaurant was designed to be a fun and welcoming spot, especially for the Hispanic community. At Ojos Locos, employees often speak both Spanish and English. This has helped the restaurant become very popular. In 2013, D Magazine named it the best sports bar in Dallas.
A Place for Sports Fans
Ojos Locos is known for its lively atmosphere. The servers are called "chicas," which is Spanish for "girls." The restaurants are filled with large-screen TVs, so customers never miss a game. They show many sports in Spanish, especially soccer, boxing, and UFC matches.
The menu features a mix of Mexican and Southwestern American dishes. Tacos are one of their most popular items. The restaurant is also known for serving drinks in very large pitchers called "balones."
As of 2020, Ojos Locos had thirteen locations in Texas, Arizona, and New Mexico.
