The Old St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church is a very old church in Eklutna, Alaska. People also call it the Eklutna Chapel. It is a special Russian Orthodox church with a long history. The church is about one mile from the Knik Arm, which is part of the Cook Inlet.
The church was built around 1894. It was made from strong spruce logs. The building is about 5 meters by 8 meters in size. In 1900, the church was moved to where it stands today.
A newer church was built right next to the old one in 1962. The Old St. Nicholas Church was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. This means it is an important historical site. Many Russian Orthodox churches in Alaska have been studied for their history.
