Galina Dmitrievna Chichagova (born 1891, died 1966) and Olga Dmitrievna Chichagova (born 1886, died 1958) were sisters from Russia. They were talented graphic artists, especially famous for drawing pictures in children's books. They worked together for their whole careers. Most of the books they published show both their names as the artists.

About the Chichagova Sisters

The Chichagova sisters came from a well-known family of architects in Moscow. Their father, Dmitrii Chichagov, designed the historic Moscow City Hall building. Their grandfather, Nikolai Chichagov, designed famous buildings like the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour and the Grand Kremlin Palace in Moscow.

Both sisters studied art at the Stroganov Arts Academy from 1911 to 1917. Later, in 1920, they continued their art education at a famous school called Vkhutemas. Many well-known artists who used a style called Constructivism also studied there. The sisters themselves liked the Constructivist style, and you can see this art style clearly in their book illustrations.
