Omar Cummings (born July 13, 1982) is a former professional football (soccer) player from Jamaica. He played as a forward, which means he was usually in charge of scoring goals! Omar spent his entire professional career playing for different teams in the United States.

Playing Career Highlights
Early Life and College
Omar Cummings went to Jonathan Grant High School. After that, he studied at Cincinnati State College and the University of Cincinnati. He chose to study criminal justice while playing college soccer.
Professional Club Teams
Omar Cummings started his professional career when he was picked by the Colorado Rapids in the 2007 MLS SuperDraft. This is like a draft in other sports, where teams choose new players. He was the 31st player chosen overall.
On September 4, 2010, Omar scored two goals for the Rapids, helping them win a game 3-0 against Chivas USA. Because of his great performance, he was named the Major League Soccer Player of the Week!
Later that year, in December 2010, the Colorado Rapids allowed Omar to try out for Aston Villa, a famous team in England's Premier League. The manager, Gérard Houllier, was very impressed with Omar. However, a deal couldn't happen because of rules about getting a work permit to play in England.
Omar returned to play for Colorado. On April 30, 2010, he played his 100th game in Major League Soccer (MLS) for the Rapids against Chicago Fire.
In December 2012, Omar was traded to the Houston Dynamo team. He played for them for two years.
In 2015, Omar joined the San Antonio Scorpions in the North American Soccer League. He had a very good season there, scoring 10 goals in 29 matches.
On January 21, 2016, Omar signed with a new team called FC Cincinnati. This team was just starting out in the United Soccer League.
Retirement and New Role
On July 23, 2017, FC Cincinnati announced that Omar Cummings would be retiring from professional soccer. He played his last game the very next day in a friendly match against a Spanish team, Valencia CF. During halftime of that game, the club honored Omar with a special ceremony and gave him a framed jersey.
After retiring from playing, Omar didn't leave soccer completely! He joined the front office of FC Cincinnati. In this new role, he helps with the youth academy and community programs, teaching and inspiring young players.
Playing for Jamaica
Omar Cummings also played for his home country, Jamaica. He made his first international appearance in July 2008. He played 35 games for Jamaica and scored 7 goals during his international career.
Personal Life
Omar Cummings has family members who are also soccer players, including his cousins Rafe Wolfe, Wolry Wolfe, and Kemeel Wolfe.
Omar has a U.S. green card. This means he is considered a domestic player for teams in Major League Soccer (MLS) in the United States.
