Omega (Ѡ ѡ) is a special letter used in the early Cyrillic alphabet. It looks a lot like the Greek letter Omega, which is where it originally came from.

What is Omega?

The letter Omega (Ѡ ѡ) is part of the old Cyrillic alphabet. This alphabet was used a long time ago to write languages like Old Church Slavonic. It's different from the modern Cyrillic alphabet used today.

How Omega Was Used

Omega was mainly used for writing numbers. In the old Cyrillic system, letters could also stand for numbers. Omega represented the number 800. This was similar to how Roman numerals work.

Its Greek Roots

The Cyrillic Omega came directly from the Greek letter Omega (Ω ω). The Greeks used their Omega as the last letter of their alphabet. It also represented the number 800 in their number system.

Why Omega is Not Used Today
