Modeling

Omer began his career in 2011 as a model. He tried out for Bridal Couture Week, a big fashion event. Vaneeza Ahmed, a famous model, held the auditions. Omer was one of only a few people chosen out of 200 who tried out.

He once said, "There were 200 boys and girls at the audition. I was one of the eight male models picked." After that, he appeared on Noor's morning show on Hum TV. He became very popular after working with a fashion coordinator for a photoshoot. Omer explained that "when your photos appear in a fashion magazine as a model, people finally start to notice you." He then worked with famous designers like Deepak Perwani, Sania Maskatiya, HSY, Zainab Chottani, Fahad Hussayn, and Zaheer Abbas. This work helped him become widely recognized and praised.

Acting

Omer made his first TV appearance in 2013. This was in the drama series Adhoori Aurat. He always wanted to be an actor. He admired actors like Faisal Qureshi and Noman Ijaz. But modeling happened first for him. In Adhoori Aurat, he played a character who was a bit of a villain.

Before acting in movies, Omer starred in three more drama series. These were Choti Choti Khushiyan, Chor Darwazay, and Noor Jahan (in 2015). He then moved into the film industry.

He made his movie debut in 2015. He starred in the 2016 romantic-comedy film Teri Meri Love Story. Jawad Bashir directed this movie. In the film, Omer played the role of Ramis. He acted alongside Ushna Shah, Mohib Mirza, and Mohsin Abbas Haider.

In 2017, he starred in the popular drama Alif Allah Aur Insaan. He played one of the main characters named Shaheer. Omer Shahzad also appeared in Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2 in 2018. This was one of the most awaited Pakistani movies. In this film, he played the main bad guy.

Music

Omer has said that if he hadn't become a model, he would have been a singer. In 2018, he announced that he would soon start his professional music career.

In 2022, he sang a song called Yar Nu Meray with Ayesha Omar. This was for the second season of the TV music show Kashmir Beats. In the same year, he released his first solo song, Akhiyaan. It was released through Crystal Records.
