- A computer printer is online if it has power, is turned on, is connected to your computer, and has paper. Once all these things are true, the printer is online and ready to print your homework!
- A game console might be online if it's powered on and ready for you to play, even if it's not connected to the internet for multiplayer games.
What Does "Offline" Mean?
If something is not online, it is offline. This means it is in a disconnected state or not ready to work.
Disconnected
- If your internet connection goes down, your computer goes offline from the internet. You can't visit websites until it's back online.
- A mobile phone is offline if it's turned off or has no signal. You can't make calls or send messages.
When You're Offline
