Opel Agila facts for kids
The Opel Agila was a small car made by the German car company Opel. It was produced from the year 2000 until 2015. The Agila was designed to be a practical and easy-to-drive car, especially good for city streets and tight parking spots. It was known as a "mini MPV" (Multi-Purpose Vehicle) because it offered a lot of space inside for its small size.
Agila and Suzuki Cars
The Opel Agila had a close connection with cars made by the Japanese company Suzuki. The first version of the Agila was very similar to the Suzuki Wagon R+. This is called "badge engineering," which means two different car brands sell almost the same car, but with their own badges (logos) and small design changes.
Later, the Agila was replaced by a new model in 2008. This second version of the Agila was very similar to the Suzuki Splash. While the Agila was mostly sold in Europe, the Suzuki versions, like the Wagon R+, were also popular in other countries, including Japan.
