The Oradell train station is a stop for NJ Transit trains. It's located in the town of Oradell, in Bergen County, New Jersey. You can find it where Oradell Avenue and Maple Avenue meet. This station is used by trains on the Pascack Valley Line.

Station History

Early Days of the Station

Train service in Oradell started a long time ago, on March 4, 1870. This was when the Hackensack and New York Extension Railroad first opened. Trains ran from Anderson Street station in Hackensack all the way to the station in Hillsdale.

Rebuilding and Ownership

The original station building was rebuilt in 1890. At that time, the station was part of the New Jersey and New York Railroad. This railroad was also connected to the larger Erie Railroad. Later, on November 23, 1966, the town of Oradell bought the station building.

A Historic Landmark

The Oradell station building is considered very important. It has been listed on both the New Jersey state and National registers of historic places since 1984. This means it's a protected historic site. It's part of a special group of historic train stations.

Platform and Tracks

The Oradell station has one track for trains to use. It also has one low-level side platform. This is where passengers wait for and get on and off the trains.
