Orazio Satta Puliga (born October 6, 1910 – died March 22, 1974) was a brilliant Italian car designer. He was famous for creating many iconic cars for Alfa Romeo, a well-known car company.

He had roots in Sardinia, an island in Italy. His work helped shape the look and performance of many classic Alfa Romeo vehicles.

Early Life and Education

Orazio Satta Puliga was born in Torino, Italy. This city is famous for its history and engineering. He loved learning about how things work.

He studied at the Politecnico di Torino, a top engineering school. In 1933, he earned a degree in mechanical engineering. Two years later, in 1935, he also became an aeronautical engineer. This means he knew a lot about designing machines that fly.

Joining Alfa Romeo

On March 2, 1938, Orazio Satta Puliga joined Alfa Romeo. This was a big step in his career. He started in the design department.

He worked under the guidance of Wifredo Ricart, who was the head of design at the time. This was a great chance to learn from an experienced leader.

Leading Design at Alfa Romeo

After World War II, Orazio Satta Puliga took over as the head of design in 1946. He was now in charge of creating new cars for Alfa Romeo. He oversaw the design of many famous models.

Later, from 1969 to 1973, he served as the general vice president. This was a very high position. He retired from his role due to health reasons.

Orazio Satta Puliga passed away in Milan in 1974. He left behind a great legacy. His designs continue to inspire car enthusiasts around the world. He is remembered as one of Alfa Romeo's most important designers.
