Oscar is a small, quiet place in Texas County, Missouri, in the United States. It's not a big city or town with its own government. Instead, it's called an "unincorporated community." This means it's a group of homes and maybe a few businesses that are part of a larger area, like Jackson Township. You can find Oscar about 5.5 miles south of a town called Licking, right along Missouri Route 137.
History of Oscar
Oscar once had its own post office! This post office opened way back in 1880. It was a place where people could send and receive letters and packages. But after 35 years, in 1915, the post office closed down. The community of Oscar was named after a person named Oscar Bradford. He was the son of one of the very first families to settle and live in that area.
