Oscar Pablo Rossi (born July 27, 1930 – died September 6, 2012) was a famous football player from Argentina. People often called him Coco. He played as a Midfielder for many teams in Buenos Aires during the 1950s and 1960s. Oscar Rossi also played for the Argentine national team in the 1962 FIFA World Cup.

Playing for Clubs in Argentina
Oscar Rossi was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He started his football career in 1950. His first team was Club Atlético Huracán, a local club. He played there until 1953.
In 1954, he joined Racing Club de Avellaneda for one year. After that, he went back to Huracán. He played for Huracán again from 1955 to 1959.
Joining San Lorenzo
In 1960, Oscar Rossi moved to another big club in Buenos Aires, San Lorenzo de Almagro. There, he became a very important player. He played well with another famous player, José Sanfilippo.
They both played in the very first Copa Libertadores tournament in 1960. This is a big competition for South American clubs. San Lorenzo reached the semi-finals but lost to a team from Uruguay called C.A. Peñarol.
Rossi stayed with San Lorenzo until 1964. He later played briefly for Club Almagro in 1967. His playing career ended in 1969 when he returned to Huracán one last time. In total, he played 287 matches and scored 69 goals in the top Argentine league, the Argentine Primera División.
Playing for Argentina
Oscar Rossi also played for the Argentine national team. He was part of the team that went to the 1962 FIFA World Cup in Chile. The team's coach, Juan Carlos Lorenzo, picked him and four other players from San Lorenzo for the World Cup.
World Cup Experience
During the 1962 World Cup, Rossi played in Argentina's first game. They won 1–0 against Bulgaria. However, Argentina then lost to England and had a draw with Hungary. This meant they did not move on to the next stage of the tournament.
A year later, in 1963, Rossi was part of the Argentine squad that finished third in the 1963 South American Championship. He played in four out of six games in that tournament.
After Playing Football
After he stopped playing football, Oscar Rossi became a coach for a short time. In 1978, he managed a team called Club Atlético San Miguel. At that time, the team was playing in a lower division called Primera D Metropolitana.
