Oswaldo Segura was born on August 4, 1959, in Lascano, Manabí, Ecuador. He is a famous Ecuadorian actor and TV host. Many people know him for playing a character named Felipe Vera in the TV show Mis Adorables Entenados in the late 1980s.

Early Life and Acting Start

Oswaldo Segura was born in a town called Lascano. When he was two years old, his family moved to Guayaquil. He wasn't the best student in school. From a young age, he loved acting. He started acting before he turned 17. This happened after he saw an ad for acting classes. These classes were at the Casa de la Cultura Núcleo del Guayas.

His first time on stage was in a play called La Farsa del Corregidor. He played a quiet guard in this show. As time went on, he got bigger and more important roles. This was because he kept getting better at acting.

His Theater Groups

Oswaldo Segura has been part of two important theater groups. These groups helped him become a well-known actor.

El Juglar Group

In 1977, Oswaldo joined a theater group called El Juglar. He stayed with this group for seven years. It was started by Ernesto 'El Flaco' Suárez and Tati Interllige. They were two Argentinians who came to Ecuador to teach acting. With El Juglar, Oswaldo Segura acted in a very popular play. It was called Guayaquil Superstar and came out in 1980.

La Mueca Group

In 1983, Oswaldo Segura started his very own theater group. He named it La Mueca, which means "The Grin". With this group, he has put on many plays. Some of these plays include Sombras y sueños and A guayaco in Hollywood. Other plays were El Andamio, Furia de chiros, and Maestra vida. Since the 1990s, his group has performed at the El Angel theater. This theater is in the Urdesa area.

In the 1980s, Oswaldo acted in a TV commercial. He played a bus driver who kept saying "I won it!" for a lottery ad. This gave Tati Interlli an idea for a new play. The play was called ¡Me la gané por Diosito Santo!. It was about a man with four children who gives them to his wife to care for.

TV Shows and Fame

Oswaldo Segura became very famous through his work on television. He starred in many popular shows.

Mis Adorables Entenados

In the late 1980s, Oswaldo Segura joined a TV comedy show. It was called Mis Adorables Entenados and was on Ecuavisa. The show was based on the play ¡Me la gané por Diosito Santo!. Oswaldo played Felipe Vera, also known as Felipito. Felipe was a young man from a regular family. He sometimes acted like he was better than others. He lived with his half-brothers and his stepmother. This role made Oswaldo Segura famous all over Ecuador.

Other TV Work

In the 1990s, Oswaldo and his group La Mueca had their own comedy show. It was on TC Televisión and was called El Show de Felipe. He played his famous character Felipito to host the show.

Later in the 1990s, he worked for Telesistema, which is now RTS. He was in a new version of his famous show. It was called Mis Adorables Entenados con Billet. Also in the late 1990s, he was in a show called Get My Taxi.

In 2004, Oswaldo returned to RTS. He became a host on a national entertainment show called Vamos Con Todo. He stayed on this show for more than 10 years. The show ended in 2018. In the same year, he became a main host for the show Intrusos. He hosted it with Marián Sabaté.

During the 2000s, he also starred in shows on Ecuavisa. These included De la Vida Real and Visa for a Dream. In 2002, he was in the series Los Entenados on Gamavisión.
