Willie Otis Howard (born November 5, 1956) is a former American basketball player. He played as a power forward. Otis Howard is known for his successful college career and his time playing professionally in both the National Basketball Association (NBA) and in Europe.

Early Life and College Career
Otis Howard was born in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. He played high school basketball at Oak Ridge High School. After high school, he went on to play college basketball at Austin Peay State University. He played for the Austin Peay Governors from 1974 to 1978.
College Achievements
Howard was a standout player in college. He was named the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Player of the Year twice. He earned this award in both 1977 and 1978. His jersey number, 45, was later retired by Austin Peay Governors. This is a special honor for a player. He is also a member of the Austin Peay Athletics Hall of Fame.
Professional Basketball Career
Otis Howard began his professional career in 1978. He was chosen by the Milwaukee Bucks in the fourth round of the 1978 NBA draft. The NBA draft is where professional teams pick new players from college.
NBA Experience
Howard started his first season with the Milwaukee Bucks. Later that same year, he was traded to the Detroit Pistons. He played for both of these NBA teams during the 1978 season.
