Willie Otis Howard (born November 5, 1956) is a former American basketball player. He played as a power forward. Otis Howard was known for his strong play in college and later in professional leagues.

Early Life and College Basketball
Otis Howard was born in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. He grew up loving basketball. He played for Austin Peay University from 1974 to 1978.
College Achievements
Howard was a fantastic player in college. He was named the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Player of the Year two times. This happened in both 1977 and 1978. He was so important to Austin Peay that they retired his jersey number, 45. This means no other player at Austin Peay will ever wear that number again. It's a huge honor!
He was also inducted into the Austin Peay Athletics Hall of Fame. This shows how much he achieved during his college career.
Professional Basketball Career
After college, Otis Howard was ready for the pros. He was chosen by the Milwaukee Bucks in the 1978 NBA draft. The draft is where professional teams pick new players.
Playing in the NBA
Howard started his professional career with the Milwaukee Bucks in 1978. Later that same year, he was traded to the Detroit Pistons. He played a few games in the National Basketball Association (NBA).
Playing Overseas
After his time in the NBA, Otis Howard moved to Europe. He played basketball in several different countries. He spent many years playing for teams in Italy and Spain.

International Success
While playing in Europe, Otis Howard won some big championships.
- In 1985, he helped his team win the Intercontinental Cup. This is a major international basketball tournament.
- He also won the Saporta Cup in 1985. This was another important European basketball competition.
