Otto Konrad was born on November 1, 1964, in Graz, Austria. He is a retired Austrian goalkeeper who played professional football. After his playing career, he became a coach.

Playing for Clubs

Otto Konrad started his professional football journey with his local team, Sturm Graz. He played there for 11 years, showing off his skills as a goalkeeper.

Success at Salzburg

After Sturm Graz, Otto had a very successful time playing for SV Wüstenrot Salzburg. He helped his team reach the final matches of the UEFA Cup in 1994. The UEFA Cup was a big European club competition. Unfortunately, his team lost to Inter Milan in those final games.

Otto even scored a goal in the 1994–95 season against Stahl Linz! This goal was considered the best goal of that season. In 1995, he won the Römer Award, which recognized his great achievements in football.

Moving to Spain

In 1997, Otto Konrad moved to Spain to play for Real Zaragoza. He became their main goalkeeper. However, after about a year and a half, he decided to return to Austria to continue his career there.

Playing for Austria

Otto Konrad also played for his country, the Austrian national team.

International Debut

He played his first game for Austria in May 1989. It was a friendly match against Norway. He was also part of the team that played in the 1990 FIFA World Cup, which is one of the biggest football tournaments in the world.

Otto played a total of 12 games for the Austrian national team. His last game for Austria was in August 1995. This was a qualifying match for the European Championship against Latvia.
