Oudious Lee, Jr. (born June 14, 1956) is a former American football player. He played as a nose tackle, which is a defensive position in the middle of the defensive line. Lee played one season in the National Football League (NFL) for the St. Louis Cardinals. He also played college football for the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
Early Life and College Football
Oudious Lee, Jr. was born on June 14, 1956, in Omaha, Nebraska. He grew up in Omaha and went to Omaha South High School.
After high school, Lee played college football for the Nebraska Cornhuskers at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. He was part of the team from 1976 to 1979. He earned a "letter" for three years, from 1977 to 1979. A letterman is an athlete who has played well enough to earn a special award, often a letter jacket, from their school.
Professional Football Career
Oudious Lee started his professional football journey in 1980. Even though he was not chosen in the 1980 NFL draft, he signed with the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL) in May 1980. He was with the Eagles for a few months before being released.
Later in 1980, Lee joined the St. Louis Cardinals. He played in one game during the 1980 NFL season. He was released by the Cardinals in August 1981.
In 1982, Lee signed with the Cincinnati Bengals, another NFL team. He was with them for a few months before being released in September 1982.
Lee then moved to a different league called the United States Football League (USFL). He signed with the Boston Breakers in February 1983. He had a busy season with the Breakers, playing in all 18 games and starting four of them. During the 1983 USFL season, he recorded four sacks, which means he tackled the opposing team's quarterback behind the line of scrimmage four times.
In March 1984, Lee was traded from the Boston Breakers to the Denver Gold, another USFL team.
Family Life
Oudious Lee has a son named Malcolm Lee. Malcolm also played college football, following in his father's footsteps. He played for the Kansas Jayhawks.
