History of the Church Building
The church was built a long time ago, between 1964 and 1965. The people who designed it were a famous group of architects called Gillespie, Kidd and Coia. Their work on this church was really good. In 1966, they won two important awards for it. They received a bronze medal from the RIBA, which stands for the Royal Institute of British Architects. They also got a Civic Trust Award. These awards show that the church building was considered excellent in its design and how it fit into the community.
