Oval is a small community in Pennsylvania, United States. It is located in Limestone Township, which is part of Lycoming County. Oval is known as a census-designated place (CDP). This means it's an area that the government counts for population, but it's not an official town or city.

In 2010, about 361 people lived in Oval. By 2020, the population grew slightly to 366 people. Even though it's not a separate town, Oval is an important part of Limestone Township.

Where is Oval Located?

Oval is found in the southwestern part of Lycoming County. It sits in the north-central area of Limestone Township.

Roads and Travel

You can reach Oval using Pennsylvania Route 44. This road connects Oval to other places. If you go northwest on PA-44 for about 7 miles, you'll reach Jersey Shore. There, you can also find U.S. Route 220.

If you travel southeast on PA-44, you will cross North White Deer Ridge. About 16 miles away is Allenwood, where you can connect to U.S. Route 15. The main city of Lycoming County, Williamsport, is about 13 miles northeast of Oval. You can get there by taking PA-654.

Land and Water

The area of Oval is about 2.8 square kilometers (or 1.1 square miles). All of this land is dry land; there are no large bodies of water within the CDP itself.

Oval is located in the eastern part of the Nippenose Valley. Water from this area drains into small streams that flow into Antes Creek. Antes Creek then flows northwest and eventually joins the West Branch Susquehanna River.
