Ovidiu Nicușor Burcă, born on March 16, 1980, is a football manager and former player from Romania. He used to play as a defender and now coaches the Liga I club Oțelul Galați.

Playing Career Highlights
Starting in Youth Football
Ovidiu Burcă started playing football when he was young. He trained at the Gheorghe Popescu Football School. This school is named after a famous Romanian footballer.
Playing in Ecuador and Japan
Burcă began his professional football journey in Ecuador with Club Sport Emelec. He played six matches in their top league. A year later, a Japanese club called JEF United Ichihara noticed him. He played four matches for them. Soon after, he moved to another Japanese team, Ventforet Kofu, where he played 16 matches and scored one goal.
Returning to Romania
After playing in Ecuador and Japan, Burcă came back to Romania. He joined Universitatea Craiova and played 25 matches. His skills caught the eye of FC Dinamo București, a big club in Romania.
Success with Dinamo București
At Dinamo București, Burcă had a very successful time. He helped the team win the Romanian League in the 2003–04 season. He also won the Cupa României (Romanian Cup) three times with them. After three years, he moved to Național București.
Playing in Germany and China
In 2007, Burcă signed a three-year contract with Energie Cottbus, a team in Germany's top league, the Bundesliga. He faced a serious injury in his first season, which kept him from playing for a year. Later, he became a key player and was even named team captain in 2009. In 2008, he was loaned to Beijing Guoan, a club in China.
Back to Romanian League
After his contract in Germany ended, Burcă returned to Romania. He signed with FC Politehnica Timișoara and played in the Liga I. He even played against Manchester City in a Europa League match. Later, he also played for Rapid București.
