Owen has an interesting past! It was first settled in 1830. Back then, it had a different name: Herculaneum. Imagine that!
For many years, Owen even had its own post office. This was a busy place where people could send and receive letters. The post office opened in 1878. It stayed open for a long time, until 1933.
The community was later named after a person named John Owen. He was an important official in Clark County.
