Owen Wade (born 1831, died 1902) was an American politician. He was a member of the Oregon Legislature and the California State Assembly.

Early Life and Moving West
Owen Wade was born on October 28, 1831. He grew up on a farm in Morgan County, Ohio. In 1852, when he was about 21 years old, he moved west. He settled in the Willamette Valley in Oregon.
Political Career and Public Service
Wade began his political career in Oregon. In 1862, he was elected to the Oregon Legislature. He served there until 1865.
In 1865, President Abraham Lincoln chose him for an important job. Wade became the Registrar of the General Land Office in Oregon City, Oregon. This office helped manage public land.
He also became involved in local politics. In 1872, he was the chairman of the Republican Central Committee for Clackamas County. He kept his job as registrar until he resigned in January 1878.
Moving to California
In 1879, Owen Wade moved to California. He settled in a town called St. Helena, California. There, he started working at the Bank of St. Helena in 1883. He was a cashier, handling money and accounts.
Serving in California
Wade continued his political journey in California. In 1892, he was elected to the California State Assembly. This is a part of California's government that makes laws. He was re-elected two more times, in 1894 and again in 1898.
Family Life
Owen Wade married Charlotte Johnson in Clackamas County, Oregon, in 1866. They had three children together. Sadly, Charlotte passed away in 1873, shortly after their youngest daughter was born. Owen Wade died in San Francisco on May 18, 1902.
