Oz Scott (born September 16, 1949) is a talented American director and producer for TV shows and movies. He is especially famous for directing Mr. Boogedy, a short film that won an award. He has also directed many popular TV series and films, including The Cheetah Girls.

Oz Scott's Early Life and Career Beginnings

Oz Scott was born in Hampton, Virginia. He studied at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, where he earned a special degree called an MFA. After his studies, he started his career in theater in Washington D.C. at the Arena Stage.

While working at the Arena Stage, he helped manage a traveling theater group called The Living Stage. This group used improvisation, which means they made up their performances on the spot!

Oz Scott's Journey in Television and Film

In 1981, Oz Scott directed his first full-length movie, Bustin' Loose. This was just the start of his amazing career.

Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Scott directed many well-known TV shows and movies. Some of these include Gimme a Break!, Scarecrow and Mrs. King, and Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.

Directing Hit Shows and Movies

In 2002, Scott directed a TV movie for VH1 called Play'd – A Hip Hop Story. This movie became VH1's most watched program at the time!

The very next year, he directed the popular Disney Channel Original Movie The Cheetah Girls. This movie was a big hit with young audiences.

After The Cheetah Girls, Scott continued to direct episodes for many more famous TV shows. These include Everybody Hates Chris, Boston Legal, CSI: NY, and NCIS.

Besides directing, Oz Scott also wrote episodes for the classic TV show The Jeffersons. He also worked as a supervising producer for the show The District.

In 2008, Oz Scott became an important leader at the Negro Ensemble Company. He was named the associate artistic director and joined their board of directors.

Oz Scott's Personal Life

Oz Scott lives in Sherman Oaks, California. He lives there with his wife and their three grown children.
