What's in a Name?
Ozora is very close to an older settlement called New Bremen. German settlers had founded New Bremen. They named it after the port city in Germany they sailed from.
In 1901, people suggested three names for the area. These names were New Bremen, Ida, and Ozark. However, there was already a post office named Ozark in another county. So, the name Ozora was created by taking parts of the word "Ozark."
