P. S. Ramamohan Rao, born on July 31, 1934, is an important person who used to work for the government in India. He served as the Governor of Tamil Nadu, a state in India, from January 18, 2002, to November 4, 2004.

A Life of Public Service

P. S. Ramamohan Rao joined the Indian Police Service in October 1956. This is a special group of officers who help keep law and order in India. He later became the Director General of Police for Andhra Pradesh, which is a very high position in the police force.

Awards and Recognition

Mr. Rao was recognized for his excellent work in the police force. He received the Indian Police Medal in 1974. Later, in 1982, he was awarded the President's Police Medal. These medals are given to police officers for their brave and dedicated service to the country.

Serving as Governor

After a long career in the police, P. S. Ramamohan Rao became the Governor of Tamil Nadu. A Governor is like the head of a state government, representing the President of India. He held this important position for nearly three years, from 2002 to 2004.
