PROSOCO's Story
PROSOCO began in 1939 as the Process Solvent Company. At first, it made special cleaners and engine treatments for cars and trains in Kansas City. In the 1950s, the building industry grew a lot. Because of this, the company started focusing only on products for construction and building care. In 1967, the company started using "PSC" as a shorter name.
Big Projects and Innovations
Over the years, PROSOCO has worked on many important buildings. One big project was at the United States Capitol Building. They helped remove 150 years of old paint, dirt, and grime from the building's west side. PROSOCO also helped fix parts of the Pentagon after the events of September 11, 2001.
In 1997, a special cleaner from PROSOCO was used to help preserve parts of the Smithsonian Institution. This cleaner was a mix of different acids and a special soap. In 2013, PROSOCO's products were used on the Bullitt Center. These products were special because they were "phthalate-free," meaning they didn't have certain chemicals. In 2015, PROSOCO's system for sealing buildings against air was named one of Building Green's top-10 products.
