Pablo Gabino Rey Sendón (born in 1968), known as Pablo Rey, is a Spanish painter from Barcelona. He is famous for his unique style in contemporary painting.

Early Life and Education
Pablo Rey grew up in a family of artists. His father, Gabino Rey, was a Spanish realist painter who taught Pablo how to paint from a young age.
Pablo showed great talent early on. In 1989, he won the Talens prize for young painters. In 1992, he won another award, the Raimon Maragall i Noble prize, at the same competition in Sala Parés Gallery in Barcelona.
In 1994, the University of Barcelona bought one of his artworks for their collection. That same year, he graduated with a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona.
Art Career and Exhibitions
In 1996, Pablo Rey moved to New York City to live and work. This move helped him explore new artistic ideas.
New York Beginnings
In 1997, he took part in The Grammercy International Art Fair in New York. He also joined an exhibition called "New Tide" at the Williamsburg Art & Historical Center in Brooklyn.
In 1998, Pablo Rey was chosen for a documentary film called 98 IN NY. This film, made by Canal +, was about Spanish artists living and working in New York.
Artistic Journeys and Collaborations
In 1999, Rey drove from New York to Texas. This trip inspired a series of artworks called NY-TX. He showed these works at the Holland Tunnel Art Projects gallery in New York City in 2000.
In 2004, he had an exhibition called "Two painters on the same canvas" with artist Luis Trullenque. This show was held at Benedormiens castle in Santa Cristina d’ Aro in Girona, Spain.
In 2005, an art expert named Arnau Puig wrote about Pablo Rey's art. He described Rey's paintings as "Painting set free and freedom in the painting." Another art historian, Pilar Giró, said that Pablo Rey is a special voice in Spanish art. She noted that he combines logic and emotion in his work.
In 2009, Rey presented an exhibition called "Conjuncions" in Sant Feliu de Guíxols. This show featured three painters working on the same canvas, including Alex Pallí and Luis Trullenque. The exhibition later moved to the House of Culture of Gerona in 2011.
In 2013, he had a solo exhibition called 'Recent Work' in Sant Feliu de Guíxols. The next year, in 2014, he participated in the 'Framed' exhibition at the Holland Tunnel gallery in New York.
