The Early Days
Long ago, between 1938 and 1940, the land where Paiçandu now stands was home to Native American people and caboclos (people of mixed heritage). There was a small cemetery there, which was a landmark in the thick, untouched forest.
Later, from 1942 to 1944, explorers from other Brazilian states like Minas Gerais and São Paulo came to this area. They were drawn by the rich, fertile soil, which was perfect for growing coffee. At that time, coffee was the most important crop and brought a lot of wealth to the region.
