Palmer is a small, unincorporated community located in the town of Rush River, Wisconsin. It is found within St. Croix County in the United States. An "unincorporated community" means it is a group of homes or buildings that is not officially a city or town with its own local government.
A Glimpse into Palmer's History
Palmer got its name from an early settler named William Palmer. He moved to this area from New York sometime in the 1860s. The community's post office first opened its doors in December 1893. The very first person to be in charge of the mail there was William McConnell.
