Palmer Wapau, born on January 16, 1983, is a former professional rugby league player. He played for the Brisbane Broncos team in Australia's top competition, the National Rugby League (NRL). During his career, he played in different positions like five-eighth, second row, and prop.
Early Life
Palmer Wapau went to school at St. Teresa's College, Abergowrie. This is where he received his education.
Playing Career
Palmer Wapau was a very skilled player, especially as a forward. He even showed his talent by playing as a five-eighth in the Queensland Cup in 2007. However, a serious ankle injury made it harder for him to join the NRL sooner.
He finally made his first appearance in the NRL during round 7 of the 2009 NRL season. This game was against the Parramatta Eels. Palmer played as a replacement for another Broncos player, David Taylor.
A former school friend and player for the North Queensland Cowboys, Matt Bowen, once said that Palmer was the best player who hadn't yet played in the NRL before his debut in 2009. Palmer's last game in the NRL was against the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks. His team lost that game 46-12 at Shark Park.
