History of Palmersville
Palmersville was one of the very first places settled in Weakley County. It was named after one of its founders, a person named W. R. Palmer.
In the late 1800s, a school called Minida College was built in Palmersville. However, in 1924, a big fire caused a lot of damage. The fire destroyed almost all the buildings. Only four buildings were left standing. These included the local bank, the blacksmith shop, and two stores.
