Pam Veasey's Career Journey
Pam Veasey studied at the University of Southern California. She earned degrees in Journalism and Political Science. After college, she started her career in television.
Early TV Work
Veasey began working behind the scenes in 1985. She was a receptionist for the sitcom Gimme a Break!. Soon, she started writing for the show. She wrote six episodes for Gimme a Break!. Later, she wrote an episode for What's Happening Now!!.
In 1990, Veasey joined the comedy show In Living Color. This was a very popular sketch comedy series. She became a writer and then the head writer for the show. She stayed with In Living Color until it finished in 1994.
Moving to Drama Series
After working on comedies, Veasey wanted to try drama. In 1997, she wrote an episode for the drama series Nash Bridges. That same year, she also worked as an executive producer for the sitcom Between Brothers. She was also a consulting producer for The Gregory Hines Show.
From 1999 to 2000, Veasey produced a comedy-drama called Get Real. This show starred young actors like Jesse Eisenberg and Anne Hathaway. She also produced and wrote for other CBS drama series. These included Martial Law and The District.
Leading the CSI Shows
In 2004, Pam Veasey took on a big role. She became the showrunner for CSI: NY. A showrunner is like the main boss of a TV show. They oversee everything from writing to production. She stayed in this important role until the show ended in 2013.
In 2011, Veasey also became an executive producer for Ringer. This drama aired on The CW. It starred Sarah Michelle Gellar. Veasey worked on Ringer until it was cancelled in 2012.
In 2014, she returned to the CSI world. She became the showrunner for a new spinoff called CSI: Cyber. This was the same job she had on CSI: NY. CSI: Cyber started in 2015. It aired for two seasons, ending in 2016.
Pam Veasey's Family Life
Pam Veasey was married to Marvin Williams. He was an assistant football coach at Pomona College. Pam and Marvin have two sons, Mason and Avery. Both of their sons are athletes. Avery was even drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the 2021 NFL Draft.
