About Pamela Sue Martin
Early Life and Education
Pamela Sue Martin was born in Westport, Connecticut, in the United States. She grew up there and went to Staples High School.
Starting Her Career
Pamela started her career as a model when she was 16 years old. She didn't plan to be an actress at first. However, she heard that Columbia Pictures was looking for girls to try out for a movie called To Find a Man. She decided to audition even though she had no acting experience. After three months, she got the main female role in the movie.
Her work in To Find a Man helped her get another big role. At age 19, she was chosen to appear in the movie The Poseidon Adventure in 1972. More movies followed, including Our Time and Buster and Billie.
Becoming a Teen Idol
Pamela's manager encouraged her to work in television. She became very popular with teens when she played Nancy Drew on ABC-TV. The show was first called The Nancy Drew Mysteries. It would switch each week with The Hardy Boys Mysteries.
Later, the two shows were combined into The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries. This meant Nancy's role became smaller. Pamela was not happy about this and decided to leave the series. Her last episode as Nancy Drew aired on January 1, 1978.
Starring in Dynasty
From 1981 to 1984, Pamela played Fallon Carrington Colby in the popular ABC show Dynasty. Fallon was a strong and sometimes spoiled rich heiress. Pamela left the show after the fourth season. Her character was then said to be "missing and likely dead." Another actress, Emma Samms, later took over the role.

Pamela also hosted the TV show Saturday Night Live on February 16, 1985. In the 2000s, she was the artistic director for a theater group in Idaho. Since then, she has acted in movies and TV shows from time to time.
