Paraje is a small community in Cibola County, New Mexico, in the United States. It is known as a census-designated place (CDP). This means it's an area that the U.S. Census Bureau defines for gathering population data, but it's not officially a city or town with its own local government. In 2020, about 705 people lived in Paraje.

Exploring Paraje's Location
Paraje is located in the northeastern part of Cibola County. It sits within the lands of the Laguna Pueblo, which is a Native American reservation. The community of Casa Blanca is also part of the Paraje CDP.
Nearby Communities and Roads
Paraje is surrounded by other small communities. To its west is Seama, and to its east is Laguna.
An important historic road, Old U.S. Route 66, goes right through Paraje. This famous road follows the valley of the Rio San Jose, a river that flows east into the Rio Puerco. Today, Interstate 40 also passes along the southern edge of Paraje. You can get to Paraje from Exit 108, which is called Casa Blanca Road.
Paraje is about 25 miles (40 km) west of Grants, which is the main town in Cibola County. It's also about 53 miles (85 km) east of Albuquerque, a much larger city in New Mexico.
