For his education, he attended Sewashram Inter College in Suriyawan, Varanasi. There, he earned his Higher Secondary School Certificate, which is similar to finishing high school.

Parasnath Yadav's Political Journey
Parasnath Yadav began his long political career in 1985. He joined the Lokdal political party and successfully ran for the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly. He became an MLA for the first time, representing the Barsathi area. During this time, he also worked on important committees, like the Public Enterprises and Corporation Joint Committee.
Becoming a Minister and Changing Parties
In 1989, Parasnath Yadav was re-elected as an MLA for Barsathi. This was his second term in the state assembly. Because of his hard work, he was chosen to be the Minister of State for Secondary Education in the government led by Mulayam Singh Yadav. This was a big step in his career, showing his growing influence.
Later, in 1991, he changed political parties and joined the Janata Party. However, he lost the election that year. In 1992, when Mulayam Singh Yadav started a new party called the Samajwadi Party, Parasnath Yadav joined him. He remained a loyal member of the Samajwadi Party for the rest of his life and was known to be very close to Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Continued Success as an MLA
Parasnath Yadav was elected as an MLA for the third time in 1993, representing Barsathi again, this time with the Samajwadi Party. He won by a very large number of votes, showing his strong support in the area.
For his fourth term as an MLA in 1996, the Samajwadi Party asked him to run from a different area, Mariyahu (Assembly constituency). Even with the change, he won the election and continued to serve the people. He also became a member of a special committee focused on Scheduled Castes and Tribes.
Serving in the National Parliament
While still an MLA, Parasnath Yadav decided to run for the national parliament, known as the Lok Sabha. In 1998, the Samajwadi Party chose him to be their candidate for the Jaunpur area. He won and became a Member of Parliament (MP), representing Jaunpur in the national government. He ran again in 1999 but lost by a small number of votes.
More Terms and Ministerial Roles
In 2002, Parasnath Yadav was elected as an MLA for his fifth term, again from Mariyahu. In 2003, when Mulayam Singh Yadav became the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Parasnath Yadav was given an important role as the Minister of Animal Husbandry.
In 2004, while still a minister, he ran for the Lok Sabha again from Jaunpur. He won, becoming an MP for the second time. This showed his ability to serve both at the state and national levels. He also worked on several important committees in the Parliament. He tried for a third term as an MP in 2009 but was not successful.
Final Terms and Last Days
For his sixth term as an MLA in 2012, the Samajwadi Party gave him a ticket from the newly created Malhani (Assembly constituency). He won this election as well. After the election, the Samajwadi Party formed the government, and Akhilesh Yadav became the Chief Minister. Parasnath Yadav was appointed a Cabinet Minister, in charge of Minor Irrigation and Animal Husbandry. He also ran for MP again in 2014 but did not win.
His last term as an MLA began in 2017, when he was elected for the seventh time from Malhani. He continued to serve the people of Jaunpur until his death in June 2020, due to bladder cancer. He had a long and dedicated career in politics, serving his state and country for many years.
