Pascale Guédot was born in Pau in 1960. She studied architecture in Toulouse and at a famous school in Paris called the École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Paris-Belleville. After her studies, she worked with another architect, Olivier Chaslin. Together, they designed several buildings. These included an addition to a law school in Sceaux. They also designed a nursing school in Abbeville and a store for the brand Hermès in Pantin.

In 1991, Pascale Guédot started her own architecture office in Paris. She began with a small team of four or five people.

Winning a Big Award

In 2010, Pascale Guédot made history. She became the first woman to win the Prix de l'Équerre d'Argent. This award is one of the most important in French architecture. She received it for her design of a building called a Médiathèque in Oloron-Sainte-Marie. A Médiathèque is like a modern library. It's a place where people can borrow books, movies, music, and use computers.

The Médiathèque building is very special. It sits on a strong concrete base. This base hides a power station that helps run the building. The building is located where two mountain rivers, called gaves, meet.

The top part of the building has a beautiful wooden design. It looks like a woven pattern. The openings in the wood are shaped to remind people of local industries. These include making traditional French hats called berets and delicious chocolate. The judges who gave her the award loved her design. They said it was "elegant and simple." They also said it "blends perfectly into the landscape" of the Béarn region.

Pascale Guédot is known for being very organized. She also pays close attention to every detail in her work.
