Patrick McCluskey (born 13 April 1952 – died 24 August 2020) was a Scottish professional footballer. He played as a defender or a midfielder during his career.

Pat McCluskey's Football Journey
Pat McCluskey started his professional football career in 1970. He joined one of Scotland's biggest clubs, Celtic. Playing for Celtic was a big step for a young player.
Early Career and Loan
Even though he was at Celtic, Pat spent some time playing for another team. In his first season, he went on loan to Sligo Rovers. This team is located in Ireland. Playing on loan helps young players get more experience. It allows them to play in real matches and improve their skills.
Moving to New Teams
After his time at Celtic, Pat moved to a different club. In 1977, he joined Dumbarton. This team played in the second division of Scottish football. He stayed with Dumbarton for three seasons. This was an important part of his career.
Pat continued to play for several other clubs. He joined Airdrieonians next. Later, he even played indoor football for the Pittsburgh Spirit in the United States. His last club was Queen of the South.
Playing for Scotland
Pat also had the chance to represent his country. From 1973 to 1975, he played for the Scotland U23 team. He played in six matches for this national youth team. Playing for your country is a great honor for any footballer.
