Maryhill Football Club is a football team from the Maryhill area of Glasgow, Scotland. They are part of the Scottish Junior Football Association. For the 2022–23 season, they played in the Second Division of the West of Scotland Football League.

History

Maryhill FC started in 1884 as a "Junior" club. This means they played in a league for smaller, local teams. In 1887–88, they reached the final of the Scottish Junior Cup, which is a big competition for Junior clubs.

The next year, they became a "Senior" club, joining bigger leagues. They played in the Scottish Cup for three years but didn't get past the second round. They lost big games to teams like Third Lanark and Linthouse.

In 1894, Maryhill went back to being a Junior club. This was a good move for them! They reached four national cup finals in just eight years. They also won a special wartime final in 1940.

After World War II, they weren't one of the top Junior clubs. But in the 1990s, a rich supporter named Ronnie MacDonald invested in the team. This helped them have a successful period.

The team has played at Lochburn Park since 1897. Their team colours are red and black.

In April 2017, Maryhill FC made national news! A player named Gavin Stokes scored the fastest goal ever recorded in world football history. He kicked the ball from the middle of the field into the top corner in just 2.1 seconds during a home game against Clydebank. That's super fast!

In June 2019, a wrestling company called ICW (Insane Championship Wrestling) announced they would sponsor the club.

On May 26, 2022, Mark Young became the club's new manager. He took over from Ross Wilson, who moved to another team.
